Originally a dark. long and narrow kitchen was made brighter (ironically) by opening the wall to the dining room -making the view even longer. A Mid Century Modern aesthetic was made more modern by including a High Gloss White coffee bar. We incorporated a subtle aluminum channel in the tile and attached an ipod holder for the cook's convenience. Open shelving at the end of the island stores spices for the cook and the couple's two dogs were given their own water/food bowl cubbies.
