first, Make it Work. then, Make it Beautiful! Such a great custom color on the cabinets, bold yellow concrete countertops in the kitchen mixed with a walnut top in the large pantry room. This kitchen was selected by Colorado Homes and Lifestyle magazine as the Kitchen of the Year 2011. Cabinets made by Plato Woodwork

The kitchen looks like it was passed down from earlier generations but is as modern as the commercial looking Sub Zero refrig. Winner of Colorado Homes & Lifestyles Kitchen of the Year, 2011

The island legs are not just decorative. The leg on the right is a cabinet with pull-out shelves that stores playing cards and games to be used at the family table (just behind the camera). Modern stainless leg caps are a nice contrast to the rustic paint and patina'ed hood.

The pantry is almost as large as the main kitchen and functions as a place to stage food for events. Shallow drawers in the painted cabinets with walnut butcher block countertop neatly store linens. The yellow concrete countertop is a work horse for all kinds of prep work.
