Updated Farmhouse. While building our dream home, we lived in an old 1889, three room house on the property for a year and a half. We gained an appreciation for that little farmhouse and the people who lived in it, and made every effort to honor it in our new construction. Materials - including the old kitchen sink, doors and floor beams were incorporated in, as well as old style design features to give it an 'added on to' feel. Concrete floors, iron work and great room spaces give it a cleaner and more updated feel - providing a nice contrast in style.
