Farmhouse Kitchen
When the homeowners bought this home, they immediately saw the potential! It was one of a kind, but the old kitchen was lacking counter space and was in dire need of an upgrade.
This home was practically begging for a farmhouse Kitchen, and that is what we set out to achieve! By simply moving the fridge to the other side of the kitchen, we were able to maximize the countertop space to 7 feet!
We also decided to make the kitchen distinctive. By opting out of upper cabinets on the wall, we created room for floating shelves! And not just any floating shelves, but shelves with an architectural history! The shelves were made from the stilts of a house in Queen Anne (Seattle) that was built in 1928, made from a nearby tree that was 400 years old.
We also designed white cabinets with a white countertop for that crisp and clean farmhouse atmosphere. For the countertops, we used Pental Quartz white with bolts of a cool, dark gray. And for the backsplash, we found a beautiful antique flower to give it a softer look, which works in perfect harmony with the sturdy black masculine handles.
