This Kitchen addition/renovation transformed an outdated space with a centrally located wood stove and underutilized rear porch into an expansive luxury eat-in kitchen, with adjacent butler’s pantry, custom shaker-style cabinetry and high end appliances. The custom cabinets were designed with upper ceiling-mounted, glass pane shadow boxes to display ceramic family heirlooms, while custom storage solutions were included in the design of the oversized island with a reclaimed chestnut countertop. In recognition of the historic home’s period finishes, the interior trim and coffered ceiling was matched with custom two-piece molding and burnished antique brass hardware and pennants were selected to complement historical features in the home while balancing the homeowner’s southern charm.
