Forest Falls Re-glaze
This homeowner built his home in Forest Falls based around utilizing the southern exposure to heat the home all winter. The glass he originally used was non performing clear and clear dual pane glass. The room was inhabitable during the summer, but it worked out because they had designed this area as a porch, knowing it would be too hot in the summer months. However all winter they had installed a duct with fans that would move the air through the room and as hot air rises, the fans would circulate the heat through the entire house. One problem is that Forest Falls truly is like a desert in the summer. The homeowner began exploring options on what kind of glass to replace the old failing dual pane windows with. The prospect of investing over $70,000 in the high performing "ConservaGlass" was of a concern to the homeowner. The thought that the glass may keep too much of the heat out in the winter, was a primary concern. Sun Boss worked with the homeowner to analyze what the benefits of keeping the cold air out, as well as keeping the heat of the house in. Sun Boss was able to utilize the old frame system, so instead of a new $120,000.00 structure, The project was considered a re-glaze, and saved almost $50,000. The benefit was that now in the summer this entire side of the house is protected and has all become useable space. The homeowner could not be happier in the investment to the "ConservaGlass select".
