Half of the Living Room became a media area where the family watches movies and sports. The open-back sofa at the window functions as a chaise for reading. The two swivel chairs by Ted Boerner make TV viewing possible. The silk rug is from Tai Ping and the cabinetry is by Studio Becker

The Kitchen, made of lacquered sycamore, opens to the Family Room which is paneled with the same wood. The Calacatta Marble counters add to the lightness of the space. with virtually no appliances showing (other than the wall ovens) the Kitchen becomes an extension of the Family Room it adjoins.

The Family Room bookcase houses a curved screen TV and has lit shelves. The TV is on an articulating arm and can be pointed toward any area of the room.

We took a shallow alcove in the bedroom and created a feature wall with Calacatta marble and walnut. The ethanol fireplace from EcoSmart brings warmth to the room and the back-lit shelves create a soft glow in the evening.
