Shade garden: The existing mature trees created a highly shaded area. We removed all the existing plant material and brought in compost to improve the soil quality. All the plants we use are on the water-wise plant list of the Nebraska Extension office and are hardy to Zone 4. We installed a drip line throughout the landscape beds into the existing sprinkler system to help with watering efficiency. This project was in Western Omaha in the Armburst Acres neighborhood.
