This small backyard was transformed from standard grass and a large vegetable garden into an edible paradise with a number of fruit trees (apples, plum, apricot, high bush cranberry, elderberry, haskap, currants), smaller edible plants, entertaining and relaxation space, as well as dedicated space for annual vegetables. The raised hugelkultur mounds are a great low maintenance growing space and allow the gardener to work on them without bending over and aggravating a chronic back injury.
