This home was built in 1999. It was modular, constructed in four segments, with all the corners at 45-degree angles. The owners wanted an island but there was no room. We removed a bump-in area and replaced it with large windows. We cut the width of one side of counters from 24 to 15 inches in order to create room for an island. The English sycamore cabinet panels were a challenge to find, so we had them custom made and book-matched to line up the grain perfectly from cabinet to cabinet. Half inch thick backlit glass island top and backsplash have a custom remote that can create thousands of colors of light behind the waterfall finish glass.
