The design challenge for this site was to develop two different outdoor spaces that complimented the interior related uses. To that end, the pool, spa, bbq area and guest house/cabana facility are all lcoated on the sunny southeast side of the house and are associated with the children's bedroom wing, family room, kitchen, breakfast area and stair to the basement activities spaces. The western yard area is a more formal space with a continuous stepped patio that links the dining room, living room and master bedroom to extensive lawn for more quiet and provate use. The master bedroom fireplace is two way from inside to outside connecting the bedroom to its own outside fireplace seating area. Kitchen and family room open to both yards creating a link for flow through the core of the house connecting both yards.
