Grove Point Renovation
This project is a Phase 1 addition and renovation to an original 1920's beach cottage located on a private cove off Long Island Sound. The transitional shingle style exterior gives way to large, open interior spaces all with direct views to a protected nature reserve and water beyond. White washed floors, stained fir windows and doors and the use of reclaimed beams all create an element of warmth and complement the neutral palette of wall and fabric colors. The open floor plan was created for a busy family of six but also provides unique areas for entertaining and visiting guests. The sun drenched rooms and exterior spaces flow into each other and provide a true indoor-outdoor lifestyle. The effect is purely New England but with a beachy casual vibe. The house was made FEMA compliant and also includes a geothermal system, triple glazed windows, insulation upgrades and heated floors. Phase 2 renovations and additions to the main house (shown in rendering below) are pending.
