This kitchen was done on a shoestring budget, however the client was open to relocating the plumbing, electrical and to change the overall layout to maximize the storage space and give them a kitchen they would love for a very long time.

By moving the sink away from underneath the window and placing it in the corner, we were able to create a huge working area on both sides of the sink.

This before picture shows how crowded the kitchen was. I moved the fridge to another wall and put the stove in roughly the same location as the old fridge. I also moved the sink to the opposite corner. By doing these things I really opened up the space and made it much more efficient as you can...

A small kitchen with lots of impact. The professional appliances were the big splurge in this otherwise budget conscious kitchen renovation.

Instead of having the microwave above the counter it was placed below. The adjustable shelf which the client chose to have above the microwave could also be put under the microwave pushing the microwave up a few inches closer to the counter. I really love having the microwave below the counter....

This is the before picture showing once again what a crowded kitchen this was. The stove was located right at the opening to the dining room which created a dangerous situation for their small children. The corner sink (which you see in the after pictures) really was the way to go in this kitchen.

After moving the fridge to the opposite wall we still had room for a nice eating/work area. Having the fridge right there made meals fast and easy.

It took some convincing but the client finally agreed to close up this little window to the backyard. By doing this I was able to put the fridge here making the rest of the kitchen much more open and functional.

This view really shows the benefit of closing in the window. A really nice touch was the tile in the eating/desk area going right up the wall to the ceiling. I think it looks great!
