Helvellyn way
A two storey rear and side extension to a home with everyone neighbour being an identical house in original form. This mass produced home was void of any details and plain, a complete contrast the rich character-filled Victoria properties of the wider area. the extension is inspired by the traditional bay window with its chamfered sides adding a sence of that lost typical Victoria character back to this otherwise plain uninspired home.
ultimately this extension was to provide critically needed internal space of a family of four, where their two at home boys, both over 6ft and dependent on full time support and care, had simply out grown the houses existing space.
This project was put in front of a planning committee, after a unsupportive planning process, and was unanimously afforded planning by all 7 members of the committee.
Truly the right outcome for this family and their home.
