This cottage was one of the oldest building with on this conservation area, marked in the Councils Local Development Plan as a key building to the areas character and appeal. The applicants wanted to create better spaces for family creativity and crafts and create a better separation between work and home, as the clients worked a lot from home this was important to them to have cut off point where work stoped and home began.

We achieved this with a modern extension included a glass link. Despite aggressive push back for neighbours and the planners, we successful managed to get the proposal in to an internal design review panel with the council, which had great success and favour was given to the proposal to be permitted.
