Hillside Hideaway

A need for updated curb appeal called for re-imagining the front of the home. The old drive was removed and replaced by stately integral color segments. Next to the drive a stone veneered address wall and redwood Uber bench were added. A grand entry walk was poured then tiled in stunning basalt pavers which guides visitors to the courtyard front entrance. Flanked on the garden side by an impressive copper sculpture, an existing gate inspired a rethinking of a previously bland cupola 'hallway' now activated by a custom designed console table, custom wall art and an oversized mirror. The basalt path invites one to stroll from the courtyard entry, past a grouping of crystallized stone sculptures and through the garden to the rest of the backyard. In back overlooking Playa Del Ray and the west side beyond an existing bed was rejuvenated with water wise plant material.
