This was a transformative project in Sausalito . The client wanted an authentic Japanese meditation garden from top to bottom. Pedersen Associates gutted the traditional garden and redesigned the entire space; from a new woven bamboo gate surround to the sanzon (a traditional arrangement often used to represent a waterfall) placement of the boulders. The project references bamboo and stone elements from some of the most famous gardens in Japan. The result is a peaceful, balanced celebration of nature.
