Sometimes we need to think outside the box...in this case, way outside. These homeowners needed more square footage, but, like so many homes in the Greater Boston area, didn't have a level lot to work with.

Without extending the existing basement, we added a full-length addition, including a deck, on high-tech, screw pile footings (as opposed to concrete footings). The deck stairs lead down to a stone patio under the new addition on the rear of the house. We also added a second-floor master bathroom with roof deck overlooking the city of Boston to complete this transformation.
