The clients have lived in the current house for many years and have a strong attachment to the neighbourhood. The existing kitchen blocked off the view of the rear yard, and the basement where the home business was located was unpleasant and awkward to access. To solve all these problems, the stair was reconfigured and a small addition was added to the rear, creating generous window area, a better rear yard entry, while also providing a small deck off the second floor bedroom.
