We remodeled this homeowner's kitchen in addition to all of their bathrooms in their newly purchased home. We installed T&G on the ceiling, in addition to hardwood beam "skins" that attached directly to the ceiling and ran the length of the room, giving the impression of exposed beams. While we did not do anything additional to the perimeter cabinetry of the original kitchen except paint them, we did build the center kitchen island to match. The island countertop is comprised of a slab of Calacatta Altissima marble, and the perimeter countertops are made of green soapstone, as matching the bathroom countertops (see also Jackson Bathroom Renovation).
