We were contacted by the homeowner to combine four rooms into one great room: a kitchen, a breakfast area, a formal dining area, and a living room. After the walls were removed, a steel beam was installed to support the upper portion of the house, and open-up the area. The area was then painted for cohesion, and a U-shaped island was installed as a central point of the great room.
