Out with the fiberglass; in with the new! These homeowners wanted to revamp their walk-in shower to make it look purposeful, not an afterthought, to their already existing bathroom. The old fiberglass insert was removed, and the space was rebuilt and waterproofed, then tiled. Since in-shower shelving would have imposed on already limited space, a decorative tile inset that matched the tile band running around the header of the shower was factored into the design to hold shower accessories. A bi-sectioned framed shower door completes the look.
