Knee Pots

As a teenager, Andrea Hurd worked with her father in his pottery studio. One technique she learned from him was how to make knee pots. Clay is formed over the knee, giving the finished piece an organic quality. Andrea's knee pots are artful as well as useful. Delicate and gorgeous, they can be used as vases for flower arrangements and serving dishes for chopped herbs or salt on your table. Knee pots are also practical in your garden. They beautiful serve as a water source for butterflies and other beneficial insects. Place stones and pebbles in the knee pots and distribute around the garden. Fill them with water and dragonflies, butterflies and other pollinators will drink from them.
