This homeowner wanted to update the patio space in her back yard. The existing patio was a small 400 sf builder's special that used a traditional 4x8 red brick paver laid in a running bond pattern. In her words, "It's dreadfully boring!" It was also too small. We removed the outer edges of the existing patio and changed the border to a series of right angles that dance in and out of the new patio areas. The new paver areas that were added to the patio more than double the living space. The overall effect is a large gracefully curving patio with an inlay of red. The contrasting textures, lines and colors give an updated feel to what was originally rather mundane.
