The existing attic was long and narrow - 63' long and only 12' wide. This rendered it unusable for anything other than storage. The solution was to eliminate the existing trusses and re-frame the entire roof structure. This included a shed dormer, which spanned the entire length of the attic creating an 18' wide living space. Engineering was extensive so no posts were required for roof support. The finished space provided 3 significant living areas - a large home office, family room large enough for bar, game tables, and relaxing area, and finally, several heated storage rooms.
