Meadow Project 2005
This fantastic site, with views ranging from steep mountain peaks to limestone cliffs to grassy meadows demanded a structure drawn from outside the box. The client's love of mining structures common to this area of the rocky mountains as well as site based elements such as passive solar gain and protection from the wind dictated a design based on a small, tightly developed floor plan where no space was wasted. We used reclaimed materials for the siding, trim, flooring and cabinetry. The rusty steel roof is recycled from a local manufacturer and all insulation and thermal protection was designed for twice the benefit as required by code. The end product looks like it has always existed in this wonderful meadow.
