Mid-Century Makeover

This wonderful 1950's bungalow had been loved by the same owner for 40 years. When we took it on, the home needed all new electrical and plumbing, a new kitchen, and overall updating to modernize each room while maintaining the charm of the era in which it was built. The home is now ready for its new owners to enjoy long into the future!
This mid-century classic home in Seattle was built in 1952. We updated the exterior with a new door, exterior lighting and numbers as well as some repair work to the soffits and original windows.

The original laundry room was serviceable but not up to code.

Updated paint, porcelain tile and new appliances freshened up this space just off the kitchen. We also moved the original electrical service away from the washer to make the space code compliant and safe. On sunny days the refurbished Dutch door can be opened to allow in a fresh breeze.

The patio was missing a number of tiles and had an uneven surface. Additionally, the outdoor brick fireplace was badly in need of repair.

We cleared out over two tons of concrete, leveled many of the existing tiles, added a polished stone seating area to define the space, and added in contemporary patio furniture and a fire pit. The brick fireplace was cleaned and repaired and now stands at the ready to bake a wood fired pizza.
