This was what the home looked like when I took on the project. The yard was overgrown, with an inoperable garage door, poorly placed windows, and layers of fencing and paint to be dealt with. Fortunately, the bones of the home were strong, so potential was visible!

Opening up the kitchen to the living and dining area creates a more social environment for everyone. We also reconfigured the windows to allow for a larger working area with functional breakfast bar and a sink that looks out on to the front patio area.

Extra windows allow lots of light into the kitchen and offset the dark metallic herringbone back splash used to compliment the modern white cabinetry and marbled quartz counter tops. Hickory hardwoods keep the space feeling warm and connect it to all other rooms on the main level.

This area was originally a study adjacent to the living room. By opening up the space, this lovely dining room emerged. New hickory hardwoods, updated lighting and a large new window sets the stage for fabulous dinner parties to come.

Once a formal dining room, this space seemed a wonderful place to lounge and watch TV or do a little work. Situated adjacent to the kitchen, with French Doors leading out to a new deck, the space is simple, inviting and flexible to the home owner's needs.

This updated upper bath can be accessed both through the master bedroom and the hallway. It features a walk-in Carerra tile shower and modern double vanity with trough sink and plenty of storage. Heated tile floors keep toes warm.

The lower level was dated and consumed by a large oil furnace and low hanging (popcorn textured) duct work through out.

By removing a large oil furnace and its duct work, this lower level family room is now spacious and inviting. New can lighting and in-wall heating make it cozy and bright, with lots of space for watching movies, playing games and a chic bar area to store snacks and other items.

We created a cute laundry area in the lower level, which can be closed off with curtains when you just don't want to be reminded that there are items to fold. This part of the lower level family room also leads out into the large back yard or into a fully updated bathroom.
