Mid-Century Modern Home Remodel
This mid-century modern home remodel in North Shore Glenview underwent 3 phases. The first phase was to repurpose an existing space to create a multi-functional new living space. The walls that separated the family room, den and dining space were removed to create a beautiful open floor plan which includes an office niche. The new vaulted ceiling adds to the spaciousness of the room and the wall of windows give an outdoor feel with natural light streaming in.
The second stage of the mid-century modern home remodel included a transformed kitchen, laundry room & master bathroom. As a result, a fresh modern feel flows throughout the home giving it a cohesive, contemporary aesthetic. Kitchen features walnut stained flat panel cabinetry, white quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances replacing the outdated dark countertops & golden oak cabinets. A light gray wide plank floor adds to the contemporary feel and linear lighting adds to the sleek look of the kitchen.
The third stage shows the creativity involved in re-allocating existing space. Two bathrooms were reconfigured to make a larger master bedroom and two smaller closets were incorporated into a large master closet. Large windows and a raised ceiling adds to the spacious feeling of the master bedroom. The remodeled entry with custom doors reinforces the mid-century modern feel of the rest of the home. The sleek curved vanity in the guest bath adds a contemporary aesthetic. Norman Sizemore -Photographer
