My designer challenge was to revamp an executive's home office who suggested originally perhaps an english library theme with classic "tartan red and green" colors. Determining that what he did not want was a blase, hybrid plain office, his wife and I entertained with him a handful of ideas and then coaxed him into a gorgeous, rich contemporary design of neutral tonal charcoal navy wall covering, rich espresso tones, architectural chairs with custom fabrics, new hardwoods, and a pop of color in red and orange here and there to tie in his vintage art collection. He surprised me on a shopping excursion by choosing a contemporary racer back, white leather saddle stitch executive chair. I tip my designer hat off to him for his totally awesome taste and style once we got rocking and rolling.
