The Challenge & Solution
*Optimizing functionality: Without changing the kitchen’s footprint, we enhanced workflow by relocating the prep sink to the opposite side of the island and removing underused appliances to make room for a larger refrigerator and additional storage. A pull-up mixer stand and custom kitchen organizers were incorporated to support the client’s daily routines.
*Preserving character while updating style: The original kitchen’s red oak floors were a defining feature. Rather than replacing them, we retained the floors and complimented them with rich dark walnut cabinets, creating a striking contrast that celebrates the natural beauty of the materials and the age of the home.
*Integrating modern elements: Slab cabinetry, a sleek vent hood, and contemporary backsplash tiles were added, while transitional hardware and lighting ensure the new kitchen harmonizes with the home’s existing architectural style.
