Breathed new life into a traditional Martis Camp home. The goal: update and elevate the home while honoring its solid construction and timeless Tahoe character.

The Challenge & Solution
*Working with existing features: A thorough audit identified which features were worth keeping and which were hindering the vision. Dark alder cabinets and hardwood floors were retained for their quality and to balance the budget, while plumbing, lighting, countertops, tile, and hardware were replaced to modernize the space.
*Lighten and brighten: To offset the darker cabinetry and flooring, we replaced dark granite countertops and backsplashes with Taj Mahal quartzite featuring soft, elegant veining. Bathrooms were refreshed with lighter surfaces, and all walls were painted a warm white to enhance natural light and create an airy, inviting atmosphere.
*Optimizing functionality: In the primary bathroom, a lowered makeup vanity was removed and replaced with a more functional bank of drawers, custom-built to match the existing cabinetry for a seamless look.
*Integrating transitional elements: Modern, sleek countertops and large-format floor tiles, elevated light fixtures, and timeless polished nickel plumbing fixtures brought a contemporary layer to the home’s traditional features.
