We built a full bathroom and laundry room where there was a half bath and part of a secondary bedroom. It was a complex job that required all new plumbing for both the shower, vanity and laundry room in a very small space. And we maximized every inch of it by creating a slight alcove for the toilet, building the toilet paper roll and the open medicine cabinet into the wall, using a barn-style door to not infringe into the space, and using a stained glass window to bring added light into the windowless space. For our design, we had to match the style of the current space with rustic accents like molding, main floor tiles, barn-style door, and a stained glass window and mixed them with touches of modern, retro and industrial elements like the vanity, wall sconce, the shower fixture and shower tiling. Because the bathroom was placed where the entry to the bedroom used to be, we had to install a French door as the new entry in a different wall. This gives the bedroom/work space a more open airy feeling. And lastly, we installed a new laundry room where part of the half bath used to be. Because we had to open the wall up for the space, this required us to move the electric box for the whole home into a different position.
