We transformed the kitchen and dining/living room of this penthouse into a bold, modern and functional living space. The original space wasn’t functional for their work-at-home lifestyle and needed a separate office space built into the existing large living/dining room. Also, the kitchen needed a major facelift to match their desire to make an eye-catching statement. To create the office in a dead area of the space, we built a translucent glass structure with telescoping doors that allows them to open/close it off as desired. For the kitchen, we took a fresh bold take on colors and materials that pulled in elements from their existing home so that it would feel connected, yet stand on its own. As one of the owners was a wood worker and appreciated handmade elements, we had a custom built oak table extend from the island to create a breakfast table, adding warmth and maximizing the flow. We also added a coffee bar, additional cabinetry, and minimalist, yet bold lighting choices to help harmonize the spaces.
