We transformed this West Loop home by renovating a number of areas which gave the whole home a fresh new look. We combined a powder room and separate small cluttered laundry closet with stackable units into a single multi-functional laundry/bathroom. We made several changes to the kitchen which made a huge difference in the feel of it (backsplash, handles, sink, faucet, hood). We completely renovated the tired fireplace and re-built a new one with dimmable warm sconces bookending a hanging TV above it. We added recessed lights throughout the home to make the lighting more cohesive. We tore out dated faux brick walls in the secondary bedroom and skim coated the walls and repainted the whole thing. We added carpeting in the primary bedroom and a runner on the staircase. We repainted the whole place with a nice warm neutral grey tone. And we also re-finished the floor throughout the home to give it a more dramatic feel. By coordinating elements in various rooms we helped to make it a more cohesive space. Such as using the same distressed tile on the fireplace, hearth and laundry/powder room. Using the same stained butcher block for the mantel and in the laundry room shelving and staining the floor the same color throughout.
