Moorish Meets Heirloom

Once owned by family friends, our client grew up visiting this house and always loved its Tudor charm and Moorish details. When she and her husband purchased the house they knew the main floor would need some reorganizing and tasked Tea2 with the plan. The kitchen moved to the sunny back corner, previously a little-used sunroom, where it looks out on the yard. The architecture repeats the existing arches and feels authentic to the 1930s home. Our design brief was family-friendly tonal spaces, which we achieved with a soothing palette of watery tones that complement the warmth of the wood millwork. For the decorating, we took our cues from heirloom pieces, including a dining set, desk and chair, and a collection of Royal Copenhagen china that hail from Liz’s grandmother.
