Mountain View Townhouse Treasure
An 1980s stock townhouse transforms into an airy, contemporary space. Dividing walls come down, a low dropped ceiling in the kitchen was removed, and the stairs open into the new great room, that maximizes living and entertaining space. The homeowners, an adventurous young couple both getting their MBAs during the project course, also needed a drastic improvement to their tight master bath. Twin vanities, with cabinetry matching their 80s kitchen and baths throughout, were outside a tight room with step in tub/shower combo and toilet. By removing walls and an awkward closet, that could only be accessed once the small room's door was shut, the space was reimagined with a separate free-standing tub, walk in shower with bench, and double vanity with shallow dividing storage tower.
