These home owners had recently lost their entire home to fire. And a new home was built for them on the same lot. Only a few family pieces survived. I was called in after they had moved in and they want my help making it look finished with some window treatments and accessories. The family is very casual and did not want anything too fussy. However the lady of the house fell in love with a couple of embroidered faux silks. We made a casual swag treatment for the Dining Room with side panels. And I suggested Tailored Butterfly Romans Shades mounted at the ceiling to create height. They are a wonderful valance when they are up and add warmth in the winter when they are down. A simple pole with stationary panels were chosen for the Family Room.
In the Kitchen, on the bulkhead, we needed something of interest, but not your typical Wallpaper Border. I did a raised plaster stencil that I stipple painted to create more interest.
