This home, in the exclusive Desert Mountain community of Carefree, Arizona, belongs to the owners of a local African art gallery, so incorporating their treasured African art, furniture, and accessories was our focus. The bedroom addition sits beautifully on the floor of the Sonoran desert, for a peaceful outdoor evening retreat. Other areas of the home were included in this project, including dining room, bathrooms, and a guest bedroom. This master bedroom addition was a joint project with Link Architecture and Gemini Development (builder).

This bedroom (two views within the same room shown here) won an ASID Design Excellence award in 2013 for Best Singular Space.
