Outdoor Oasis

Creating this outdoor oasis was a lot of fun. We installed 16 masonry piers to support the deck. The piers were completed with brick. The frame of the deck was done with pressure treated wood. The decking material is TimberTech Legacy Pecan composite decking. The TimberTech decking material was also used for the stair treads. The new decking was installed with a hidden fastening system eliminating any face nails. The exposed deck band were covered with a matching TimberTech fascia trim material and the steps risers were covered with the same material as the band. The exposed area under the deck on each side of the steps was enclosed with picture framed PT diamond lattice.

The railing for the steps and deck is an ornamental powder coated aluminum.

The new deck is partially covered by a 24’x18’ roof supported by 6-12”x8’ fiberglass tapered columns. Three 2’x4’ fixed skylights are framed in the roof aligning with the rear door, kitchen sink window and doggie door window. These skylights provide light to the deck area under the roof as well as light for the kitchen.

The ceiling of the new porch is routered 4’x8’ plywood panels painted sky blue. Four recessed lights and two ceiling fans are installed in the new ceiling. Riser lights are installed in the steps accessing the deck.
