Overcoming Obstacles to Make a Property Shine

This property was meticulously maintained by the one family that built it, owned it and loved it for 69 years.

Many before photos display how the children were so diligently working through the painful process of deciding the fate of years of family belongings.

You will see that this house has many beautiful features. Yet, left unaddressed, the obstacles would have affected the speed at which the house would sell and the sales price. Investing in addressing the obstacles encourages a faster sale at a significantly better price.

The living room is a very nice size with cove ceilings and archways. Because it felt very dated and plain you were less likely to notice these beautiful assets.

Changing the standard door to an enlarged arch is more consistent with the property. The way we live now is different than when the house was built. Today's families look for more connection between spaces.

The planter box occupied valuable floor space, better used by the new owners for a furniture piece. The desk was there temporarily to make space while sifting through decades of treasures and memories.

The bathroom had been updated. The sink and counter are lovely as is the modernized shower, yet, their colors did not coordinate.

Wall paper removal and a coat of paint refreshes the space quickly.

New tile pulled together all the colors in the room as well as the existing wall color throughout the rest of the house.

When this home was built it was a different era. Today's buyers do not want a door to the outside in a bedroom.

Although these cabinets offer storage, they were very taste specific. Not to worry, this property has amazing storage inside and out so buyers won't miss these.

We removed the door not only adding peace of mind to a buyer, but also offering more furniture placement options.

Easy fixes like removing sconces, valences, large pendants and old thermostats went a long way to keep the focus on gorgeous features previously lost.
