Paver Parking Pad
Reduce, reuse, recycle.
Our clients needed to expand their driveway to make some additional space for their RV and wanted to use their existing supply of pavers left from the original build. The only issue was that there weren’t enough… and it was a discontinued paver! We happened to have a large number of pavers left over from a demolition project. However, 50% of our pavers were a different color and a slightly different style.
Our solution to this problem was to insert a rectangle shape of the different pavers in the centre of the new driveway, making it look purposeful, and helping cover the necessary square footage.
In the end we still didn’t have quite enough pavers, but fortunately a browse through Kijiji helped us find the remaining amount!
The recycled pavers helped our client save on cost, and the end result blended seamlessly into the original construction.
When we advise clients on their projects, we often cite this particular job as an example to encourage them to consider both the materials they have on hand, as well as recycled materials they can source to creatively manage their project budget.
