With the heartwood ranging from a pale straw colour to dark honey tones, the grain of pippy oak moves around the knots creating beautiful wild patterns. Pippy oak boards contain frequent small knots and knot clusters which pepper the board. Often referred to as ‘cat’s paw’ oak, as it appears as if a cat has stepped in a pot of ink and walked across the board. We supplied unfinished engineered boards with a micro bevelled edge. Leaving the boards unfinished allows for installation of the entire floor prior to applying the final finish. A simple natural oil really brings out the beauty of this fabulous grade of timber flooring.
