Our clients wanted the extensive entertainment and garden spaces to be a contemporary blend of their Indian and American cultures with the special need for the patios to accommodate up to 100 guests during a wedding. Along side an existing pond, views and water were important within the design, including a personal water feature.

Soft LED lighting illuminates the Azek transition deck and the upper dining patio with its views of the pond and lower patio.

Looking back from the west lawn a central axis spans across the space between pairs of pillars. The bluestone patio was built up making the center area much more useful.

Views from the lower work-out room and upper dining room are framed by the Seven Sons flower and walls. A water feature provides cooling sounds throughout the summer.

Fond du Lac outcropping stone stairs connect the bluestone patio to the pond and allow visitors to stroll through the hillside butterfly garden.

With a nod to the Far East, the head of "turtle island" Japanese rock arrangement helps transition grade changes to the Black Raven crushed stone path below. Variegated Japanese Forest grass, along with other perennials help hold the hillside.

Water spills out of the upper patio Stonegate retaining wall into a trough of water alongside the Fond du Lac cut stone stairs and bluestone patio.

A built-in stainless steel, Profire outdoor grill was built onto the east side upper permeable patio with a sealed BEdford limestone counter top to match the pillar caps.

Saving invaluable existing trees, the backyard was transformed into a collection of easily accessed living areas held together with collections of exotic and butterfly attracting gardens.
