Portland Bathroom

When remodeling old homes we feel it’s important to stick with the period of the home and that’s just what Anne of Anne Runde Interiors did. This bathroom is a work of art! Not only does if feel modern but it has a feminine charm to it as well. There are so many amazing elements to this room!

This bathroom has the elements of the old style from its original date. We installed hexagonal Carrera marble flooring, Carrera marble countertops, traditional white subway tiles and a mosaic accent tile in turquoise.

This gorgeous vanity was designed to incorporate a traditional makeup seating area. It offers storage drawers to tuck your things out of sight. Built in furniture pieces should be versatile. We wanted the client to be able to use the shelving of this linen closet to the fullest. We made the shelves adjustable on the top as well at the ones inside the bottom cabinet.

What an amazing fully tiled shower. Here too we had the angles of the ceiling to deal with. We tiled all of the surfaces, even the ceiling. Here you can see that we added a niche to the back wall again using the beautiful turquoise mosaic tile and trimmed out in the black. Niches are a great way to save space in the shower. It offers storage for your necessities without taking up room on the floor or this lovely built in bench.

Another fun built in piece we created. This little table offers a bit of elegance as well as additional storage. The top is the same Carrera marble used on the vanity top, built in linen closet and bench in the shower. This table was painted black to coordinate with the other black accents.

One of the elements added to finish the design of this room was the wood panel ceiling. It was painted white to go along with the rest of the room. On the right side wall we installed a towel warmer. What’s better than exiting the shower and reaching for a nice warm towel?

One of the details added to the makeup vanity was this lovely chair. The wood frame was painted black and this beautiful white and turquoise fabric was used to reupholster the seat and back. The finishing touch was the nail head trim applied to the seat bottom and along the perimeter of the back....
