Repurposing!

Don't get rid of those old panels. Use the fabric to upholster a headboard, make pillow covers or bedskirts. Rework that old headboard and make it current. Take the panels you love from one house and remake for your new home.

This old toile headboard with the rusched edging was brought into the 21st century. We removed the old fabric, foam and batting to get down the the wood frame. New fabric and foam were added for the new shape. Double welt cord on the inside of shape and single welt on the outside.

The pink embroidered fabric was originally drapery panels. We made the headboard frame, added foam and batting and cut the panels to use for headboard and lumbar pillow. All done by The Fabricsmith.

This little "big" girl bed has a full size mattress and box spring. To save money, the headboard was made to fit a queen mattress, so later when the little one needs a big bed she is good to go.
