Riverbend Classic Colonial
Set on a wooded acre-and-a-half near Riverbend Park and the Potomac Heritage Trail, this classic white clapboard Colonial had great bones but interiors that no longer fit the way the family lived. WINN Design + Build renovated the main level and portions of the second floor, replaced every window in the home, added a columned front portico, and built a 900-square-foot TimberTech deck with cable railing overlooking the trees.
Inside, the design pairs traditional architecture with a fresh, layered sensibility. The kitchen features cream inset cabinetry with brass hardware, a quartz island with a classic bridge faucet, and a handcrafted tile backsplash. In the living room, arched built-in niches flank the original fieldstone fireplace. Botanical wallpaper and a sculptural pendant give the dining room personality, while a black fish-motif wallpaper turns the powder room into a conversation piece.
The result is a home that honors its Colonial character while feeling current, comfortable, and distinctly personal — inside and out.
