Russian Hill Historic Renovation

The family’s primary motivation for renovating their home was to bring more natural light and openness into the communal living spaces. We were able to achieve both goals by turning the back facade into a series of glass doors and windows, placing a large skylight in the center of the home, and reconfiguring the floor plan.

In collaboration with architect Stephen Verner and Aleck Wilson Architects and Caitlin Jones Design, we helped these homeowners restore some of the sophistication to their 1906 historic San Francisco house. The new dining room, kitchen and family room flow nicely into each other and right out to the backyard and its terraced garden. The renovated Edwardian home is now a comfortable space for this family of five to cook, eat, play and entertain guests together.
