This Music Room/Den was part of a large home renovation project. This space was dark and uninviting and per the clients, it was rarely used. I wanted to create a light, bright, inviting space for the whole family to use and enjoy. Most family members play an instrument, so they needed a separate space to practice. It also serves as a welcoming place to curl up and read a book! To achieve this I removed the open archway and added double pocket doors. The open stair rail was enclosed to make space for a large custom bookcase system and pocket french door. As a surprise for the kids, I had this custom snare drum light fixture made in a nod to the music room atmosphere!
