This spacious suburban home had suffered a broken pipe that damaged the kitchen below. What began as misfortune became an opportunity to update the dated 1990's kitchen.

We removed the cabinet soffits and a pantry closet to open up the space and to provide more storage. The client wanted to retain the "U" shape layout, but added a sitting ledge to allow for casual seating. An unused desk area became a large buffet serving both the breakfast room and the family room, and adding even more storage.
